- Social media support
As the largest cancer prevention study ever conducted in British Columbia, the BC Generations Project has depended on a strong presence – both online and in the community – to recruit its more than 29,000 participants.
Monkey Hill supports the BC Generations Project in numerous ways: on the communications side, we provide leadership for communication strategy, web content, social media, newsletter planning and implementation, media relations, video production and stakeholder relations. We take care of all aspects of the website, including revamping the information architecture, adding new web functions and keeping hackers at bay. We’ve also developed the project’s responsive e-newsletter for study members and coordinated Facebook advertising.

Monkey Hill worked with Signals Design Group to create a youth-oriented website that gives the bare facts about UV exposure. Signals produced the creative concept and design, and Monkey Hill took the lead on the website build and creation of all content for the site.
Suntips.ca presents the BC Cancer Agency’s synthesis of the most current evidence about the dangers of UV exposure, in language that is easy to understand and appealing to a young audience. The novel “moveable bubbles” on the home page makes the site fun to explore. In addition, because this site is often accessed through school computers, extra development work was required to ensure full compatibility with outdated web browsers.

In response to two reports addressing the rising cesarean birth rate in British Columbia, the BC Women’s Hospital Cesarean Task Force decided to reach out to pregnant women. Their goal was to provide women with research-backed information about various birthing options and to support them to have the best birth possible.
Monkey Hill principal Alison Osborne was contracted to translate the current knowledge into plain language web and brochure content that described the process, risks and benefits of vaginal birth, cesarean birth and breech birth. The larger campaign (including creative, web development and social media) was developed and implemented by Signals Design Group.
